Default Douglas Slocombe and the Polish invasion

An article from the BBC on how Douglas Slocombe, now 101, managed to escape the invasion of Poland in 1939. Slocombe started as a stills photographer, but went on to become one of Britain's great cinematographers.

An interesting story. I remember watching "Hue and Cry" on the BBC way back in the 50s. Given the state we were in just after the war those studios like Ealing made some amazing stuff.
