Default Darkroom Equipment

I have just found this website http://www.kingscientific.co.uk/labo...tory-glassware

They sell laboratory equipment including mesuring beakers and cylinders and thermometers, far cheaper than you can buy from photographic outlets. In their list they include both glass and plastic measures and the glass cylinders are accurate to 1cc which is needed for mixing raw chemicals. They also have electronic scales graduated in .1 gramme increments.

Postage is usually included in the price but overnight courier service is only £5 more. I have ordered glass jugs and measuring cylinders to avoid cross contamination of various darkroom chemicals.

Looks excellent, John. I have a fairly good condition 50cc beaker but it is plastic. I think I got it from e-bay and it was certainly as much as the glass one

This looks very good. I bought a couple of Pyrex graduates on eBay recently, but they were quite expensive. I wish I'd seen this site first. I've kept a note of it for future purchases.

Good to know of a source glass beakers etc. I prefer them to plastic - easier to clean properly and get contents to temperature, despite the risk of breakage. I used to work in a lab and used to 'liberate' such especially if they were slightly chipped.

Good find John.

Although I've used it before, I'm always rather wary of glass but it is much better for warming up/cooling down chemical solutions in a tempering bath than plastic.
