John King - I just came across this thread, (as you do ) and wondered how you got on and what you bought / borrowed in the end, equipment wise?

If you went ahead with the project, you are probably a master of the subject / technique now.

Default Studio work

I too had forgotten about this too but it is all water under the bridge. Coupled with Covid and ingrained intransigence of the Museum organisers I threw in my hand and walked away and so did about 1/3rd of the other volunteers.

It is a sad state of affairs, when we give our skills and time willingly for free then they want to impose unacceptable working conditions (Not connected with Covid or Health and Safety) they can go and find someone else to do their work.

That was a 8 months ago and they still have not realised their mistake. Thanks for asking anyway.

Thanks for the reply John. It all sounds a real shame the way it ended.

I too volunteer on a regular basis and I feel very appreciated where I go and get as much reward out of it, if not more, than the place and people I help.

When one feels that you're not being appreciated or as you say, "unacceptable working conditions" get introduced and in the way, it is quite often the case of just walking away, which is a shame on both sides.

Are you hoping to find somewhere more hospitable to volunteer at now?
