I don't know much about Miller, so I'll definitely be setting up the box for that tonight. That and along with Dad's Army, which is usually my breakfast viewing, when it's actually on the TV the night before. DA followed by the Miller programme, should be a good start to my Sunday.

Thanks for the link Collas!

Thanks. I have a feeling this has been on before but I cannot work out how to tell from the Programme Guide abbreviations.

Since the lockdown the TV Guide built in to the recorder is the only reliable way to check on what is coming up as my Radio Times that gets delivered to me is wrong for a large percentage of the time, having been printed weeks in advance.

A really interesting programme, if anyone's not seen it yet.

It covers her full life, and her many lovers!

She had a really interesting life and I think the programme documented it very well.

I haven't seen this programme yet but will do so.

I have three of her books of photographs and have been to exhibitions of her photographs in the Imperial War Museum and in Manchester.

Interestingly in the latter there was a strong smell of 'darkroom' in the rooms of the exhibition, presumably introduced by the exhibitors to accentuate that they were original and contemporary prints. If it was from the prints it would have implied that they hadn't been washed properly in which case they wouldn't have survived very long!!

Somewhere, I saw a photograph taken by her of a dead german soldier with a mutilated arm which had the comment attributed to her that 'he was a good german' as he was good looking and young. I remember feeling rather shocked when I first saw and read it.

Interestingly, she also took some photographs in Cologne Cathedral shortly after its liberation. I have the negatives of photographs taken in Cologne by my father at this time including a similar one inside the cathedral. They must have been there at around the same time.

I have found it. It is in the book 'The Lives of Lee Miller'. What she is actually quoted as having said is 'This is a good German, he is dead.' which puts a different interpretation on it although it is still shocking by modern sensibilities.
