Default Silverprint Exhibition

Silverprint have kindly offered to display six of our FADU 2010 prints on their exhibition wall in their London store during next October.

I’m not sure of the best way to select them from among the exhibition acceptances, so would welcome your suggestions.

The idea of using a blindfolded dart thrower has already been considered, so no need to suggest that one again.

I'm more concerned about hitting the frames.

Its a very nice gesture from Martin Reed

How about a vote at the exhibition opening, in the same way as we voted for the front cover shot for the 2009 book ?

Everyone who shows up gets 6 votes and we go through each print in turn ?

Only by seeming the prints in the flesh can you appreciate the wonderful and subtle tones of a well crafted print.

Of course I am not against the blindfolded dart thrower but I volunteer you Dave to be the one to hold the prints for him

Not a fan of selecting over the internet, you have got to see the real
print and not all potential voters may be able to get to the exhibition.
Dave selects exhibition and is well able to judge the interest that certain images have created in the exhibition.
So I vote Dave does the selection for SilverPrint.

There might be an argument to throw this open to a vote from all visitors to the exhibition be they FADU friend or members of the public as simply prints viewer or fellow photographic practitioners.

Something like: Choose the 6 prints ( order unimportant) you'd be happy to place on your walls or give to a friend.

A bit of extra work involved here and it begs the question of whether it produces a better choice than Dave's six. Would it repay this extra work? I don't know. All you can say is that it represents a democratic choice from the viewing public.

Good idea Mike, but so far I'm siding with Martin's idea of FADU members doing the choosing on the opening Saturday.
