Default Minoltina 8 Cine camera

I know we don’t generally discuss motion picture cameras, but I wondered if anyone is familiar with this model. It is a Standard/Regular 8mm camera that uses pre-loaded film cartridges. I’m trying to establish which batteries it uses. There appears to be a holder for a small cell on the camera body. It likely operates the meter/exposure system. I’m interested in what type of battery that is, and also whether there are other batteries for film transport, perhaps located in the handgrip. I’ve searched online, but none of the material I’ve seen shows the batteries. I don’t have the camera yet, but should have one quite soon. I can probably buy a manual, but would like to wait until I have a camera. Any information gratefully received!

Default Minoltina 8 Cine camera

Thank you, Michael! That covers everything I need. I tried several searches, but came up with nothing useful. I’m going to keep an eye on that Forum in future. I haven’t seen it before.
Thanks again,
Alex.

I now have two of these cameras, the first being in poor condition. The second is perfect, with the motor running well when I put in four AA batteries. The meter and auto-exposure battery should be a 1.35V mercury type called MR1. There is a replacement of the correct dimensions called LR50, but it is 1.5V. I put one of the 675ZA hearing aid batteries in, along with a big wad of tinfoil, and it works well. The 675ZA is 1.4V. The camera meter agrees with the 16 fps reading from my Sekonic L308s meter. I’ve found these cheap 1.4V cells to be very useful in older cameras.

Cine film is very much alive and kicking. Just an example from over here.

I haven’t used mine yet, for two reasons. Firstly, I’ve only been making movies on holiday, and when going abroad the Nikkorex is much more portable.
The other reason is to do with the settings available on the camera. From memory, it either has a limited film speed range, or no manual control. I’ll have to dig it out, but I think it couldn’t handle the Foma film which is 100asa.
Having said that, it’s an interesting and well made camera. Their Super8 models were very good, but again, only certain models can use the currently available film stocks.
