Good idea, Svend. I'll have a look. No shop here seems to have everything. The best shops seem to be German actually.

I always prefer to shop locally and support my community, but there are times when one just can't find something and have to get it from afar. Transatlantic online shopping is becoming a real thing lately, and it can be as easy, cost effective and quick as domestic. I regularly order from cycling shops in the UK, and can't believe how prompt the service is and how cheap the shipping is -- free in some cases.

Hope you find what you need.

Svend

Just typed benzotriazole in ebay uk and it is where I and others got theirs from. Having just checked, I found two amounts being sold = about 30g and 200g I think. The 200g works out much cheaper and there are also bucket fulls if you really need a lot.

As for Farmers Reducer, this is an easy thing to make up oneself. Loads of formulas about and you only need to make up a little when ever you need it.

But be aware that B&H announced last November that they will no longer be shipping chemicals but they're available in their NYC store only; they do however offer benzo and apparently will ship it (go figure!).

Sounds about right, all the raw chemicals to make up all those formulae I did have them all in the late 1980's but the colour developing agents don't last well

No raw chemicals in my darkroom, but lots of Bromophen and Hypam on the shelves. I'm out of film developer for the moment

To answer the original question of what I keep in the darkroom as standard:

Commercially available ready-mixed stuff:

Adox RO9 (AKA Rodinal) you can use it for pretty much anything in a hurry and it's now my standard dev for films up to iso100

Ilford Rapid Fixer

Everything else I mix from raw chemicals using:

Sodium sulphite
Sodium carbonate
Metol
Hydroquinone
Phenidone
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C powder)
Borax
Citric acid
Sodium thiosulphate (hypo)
Potassium bromide
Benzotriazole

I've got lots of other stuff, most of it given to me, that I occasionally experiment with, but I wouldn't call it 'standard'.
