Thank you Richard, yes it is the Norfolk Broads. We have occasional days out on the Broads with a friend who has his own boat. Great photo opportunities with the sailing yachts and wind pumps. FB paper is an interesting new challenge, and I was relieved to find it was quite easy to flatten the prints - just a few hours under a stack of (photographic) books did the trick.

I have now posted a scan of this print in the exchange gallery, although it unfortunately doesn't convey the nature of the matt FB paper.

And it was delivered today.
A delicate, almost high-key print of a coastal scene at Lleyn Peninsular, North Wales. It looks like a very interesting location to explore. Many thanks for the photo.

And was waiting for me when I got back from being away. A print of a cafe in Southport on a sunny day but in shadow. The print has held the shadow detail well making the day look particularly hot. No customers sitting outside which makes it look a bit sad - in keeping with the town 'looking a bit tired'.
Thanks, Richard. Best wishes, Mike |

Just received an excellent print from Martin of Lanyon Quoit, a Dolmen located in Cornwall. Great composition, lighting and lovely fibre based paper. Although it's a rollfilm negative, it has been made with a top quality 4x5 camera and lens, and the detail is very impressive. Many thanks to Martin. I'm very pleased with it. Arrived today. It's a stylish low key image of a saxophone, on 5x7 Ilford MGFB Matt paper. It works really well to convey the metallic instrument. Thank you Alex, it's good to see a different paper. As it happens, I bought a small pack of this very same paper a week or so back, and used it for my exchange print. This paper is certainly approaching the kind of finish I have been looking for. |
