Don’t know if I dare say this out loud but Ikea is another source of dirt cheap simple frames. Personally I like to use the most simple frames usually semi matt black because I want the print to be the centre of attention. The frame is there to make it look neat and to define the edge of each exhibit.
Not so long ago I bought a heap of plain wood A3 frames from Ikea for one pound each and then gave them two coats of semi matt car spray paint, they looked excellent.
