Default Using Velvia with daylight type studio lighting

I purchased a 8 x 10 Deardorff a month or so ago along with a box of 50 sheets of 8 x 10 Daylight balance Velvia 100.
I would like to use a couple of sheets on some tabletop photography. My lighting system is a couple of daylight type spiral flourescent lights with diffusers, similar to these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Triple-bulb-Da...4.c0.m14.l1262

I use these with my digital camera and the results seem OK in colour balance with the camera set to Daylight.

I wonder if anyone has used daylight colour film with this type of lighting and if so what filtration to use. I don't want to waste any film, because, as you will know processing costs for 8 x 10 are around £6.00 / £10.00 a sheet.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I like that, a nice example of lateral thinking, but maybe someone has a specific answer.

I did think of doing that but the cost would be similar to that of wasting a sheet of film.

I will probably end up doing that anyway as I have some tabletop still lifes (or is it lives) pictures in mind to take for the club competition in the next few weeks.

You may have colour problems, as I believe fluorescent tubes do not have a continuous spectrum. A colour meter would help if you can beg or borrow one.

The advert suggests (by omission) that there will be a problem with film, so your concerns are, I think, valid. As Stan said the colour spectrum is different to daylight, but whether sufficiently different only a test will reveal. Please let us know how you get on.

The plural of "still-life" I suggest is "still-lifes" even though my spell-checker abhors it.
