Books on copyright
Can anyone recommend books on the law as it pertains to photographic images, copyright, release forms, what is permitted to be photographed etc?
Thanks |

Books on copyright generally need to be explained to the rest of us by people who know their law. As another option, following Ian's example, I suggest this set of short documents on the RPS website.
Of course, if you're not in the UK you'll need to bear in mind that copyright law is not uniform in all countries. |

Don Cassell wrote a book call the photographer and the law. It covers the things you are looking for in lay mans terms.
The book was approved by the national council for the training of journalists. I think the book is out of print you may find one second hand.

Mitch, the latest edition of Cassells's book was 1997. The law has changed quite a bit since then.

The principles remain the same.

If you can find a copy it is well worth the read. A number of the topics it covers are of actual cases with Dons lay mans explanation on how the law has been interpreted to get the results. A lot of what is in the book is common sense.
