Default Hello

Well here I am, I've found the dark side

I started in Photography a few years ago owning a Canon APS1 film camera. Then after the introduction of digital and when I could afford it I bought my first DSLR with some decent glass. Having done some photography I ended up doing some at work where I do forensic stuff.

At home I have my own studio and recently I have become interested in film and I love the look and feel of the medium. I also love the way that it makes me think about every shot and not just stick the camera in Aperture mode and use it virtually like a very expensive point and shoot.

I am a member of another forum where I clearly have plenty to say with just about 12K posts and on there I mentioned that I wanted to try MF film and printing but I needed an enlarger. "Kev M" pointed me here and I met Richard of "RH Designs" who gave me a brilliant enlarger.

My film experience has been to use C41 film (mainly B&W) and have this developed and scanned but I bought and was given lots of dark room kit and now have everything I need to develop and print my images plus a box full of films in the fridge. I have developed a couple of rolls of Ilford 100 asa film and it has come out wonderfully but due to time problems I am still waiting to print my first pictures (although I have mixed up the stock developer etc ready).

So over the next few weeks I will eventually get to finish what I started.

Hello from me.

Welcome to FADU. I'd say you are as good as there in terms of the conversion. It's good fun as you have already found out

Thanks everyone. I must be keen, I am lying here answering the thread from my hospital bed having come round from a hernia op I'm absolutely fine though!

I am really looking forward to doing more film work. I have been looking at a nikon f6 which I really like the look of . What I do want though is a really nice MF camera so I need to find a few to look at to make that decision.

I have some pics I'd like to share and just posted a question in the help section about whether artistic nudes are allowed
