The problem with subjective reviews of products like this is that comments are made without scientific evidence. For instance, grain can be influenced by the formulation of a developer but can only be measured by dragging a processed negative past the aperture of a microdensitometer and calculating the Selwyn Granularity from the jagged line.
While it would be appropriate to describe a B&W slide film as 'contrasty' or 'soft' (because the H&D curve of the emulsion is largely defined during 'ripening' at manufacture) the contrast of a negative camera film is entirely adjustable by the user on development, as most readers of FADU know.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a review of these films using the rigorous analysis described above!
