Based on the thread on Photrio from which I may have underestimated the seriousness of her being "ill" the speed of her death has come as a shock.

With the loss of her husband Roger Hicks quite recently and no kids as far as I know to help, the feeling of isolation and possible lack of support must have been devastating.

There is no question in my mind that the loss of a partner makes the other partner more vulnerable can militate against being able to maintain a "fighting spirit" .

She actually did an article on the Colourstar analyser which for those interested in sophisticated colour analysers is worth a read.

That’s very sad. I only knew of Roger&Frances through their website and occasional comments by Roger on various forums & articles in print but I liked their style. Roger’s comments on the forums in particular seemed very sensible to me and often cut through the waffle rather well, I thought.

Their website was something I dipped into frequently at one time - I hope it continues to stay live but this might be difficult if there are no immediate family around.

It has come as a shock as well. I liked them both. They will be missed.
I also enjoyed Rogers straight talking about photography and have a couple of there books.

All good things come to an end. It’s a shock when people who just always seem to have been “there” - even if “there” is only on a website or forum - depart. Very sad.
