Default Storage bottles

I am looking for some 2000ml storage bottles for mixed chemicals. I have looked at plastic ones from photo suppliers, and some are cheap, about £2.75, while others are about £5.75.
I have also found a supplier of amber glass Winchester bottles at a cost of £43.00 for 12, which is the minimum order. This works out at £3.60 per bottle (plus carriage) which seems very reasonable for top quality bottles.
Would anyone be interested in six of these bottles for £21.50 plus carriage, or has anyone any suggestions for a suitable alternative ? I am in Somerset, so might be able to deliver at cost .

Richard

Richard have a look at the thread Stock Chemical Storage started by Alfie. There are things called polypins fo varying sizes which have a flexible bag inside a box which is filled and emptied via a tap. The benefit of these is that no air gets in as the bag collapses and the box around it gives it strength and protection from daylight where necessary.

The no cost alternative is empty wine boxes although these are only 3L each. Well there is a cost, I suppose, as you have the unpleasant task of buying the wine and then drinking it.:

Thanks Percepts. Unfortunately the "Winchester" bottles are from Tunbridge Wells and I think fuel costs would outweigh postage.

Mike,
I've just had a thought. Doesn't this mean disposing of all chemicals after use, or do you just keep developer in these bags ?

The main enemy of developer is air, by collapsing the bag to exclude it the life of the liquid is greatly extended.

I was thinking of the plastic bottles. if glass is what you want then just ask your local chemist/pharmacy who can usually supply dark brown /amber coloured glass bottles.
