Default Best brush for vandykes

Hi folks
I was looking for a suitable brush for vandykes that will do a great job and not shed hairs like a moulting dog (or eat the solution up)
I have read on here that the richeson 9010 and hake brushes are the ones to go for, but the states seems to be the only place that has the 9010 for sale
Hakes tend to lose hair a lot unless you run a bead of glue around the bottom where the hair meets the wood
Also is the metal ferule ok as i have read not to use a brush with one
The Daler and rowney cotman 2" is about £38 to buy
I am using foam brushes at the moment for cyanotypes and they seem to do a good job
Thanks in advance
Paddy

I have used Jiaban brushes for most processes in the past...

Thanks for the reply Barry
I was looking at the ron ranson hake brushes but was put off by the moulting of them
I have just bought a 2 inch richeson 9010 flat brush from the states, come to £37 inc delivery and import taxes off amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Richeson-.../dp/B0052Y5CSE
Bloody expensive for a brush but will probably work out cheaper in the long run
I will use this for vandyke but if you wash it properly you can use it for other processes as well
Anyone else use one of these brushes

My preference is an artist's flat water colour brush 25mm or thereabouts - synthetic as I'm a vegetarian. Also I'm a fan of small foam brushes of about the same size. The advantage of the cheap foam brush is you can use it for a session then chuck it away.

Examples of my Vandykes created this way can be seen on my website.

Enjoy, it's a great alt process.

Neil.

Instead of a brush, I prefer to use a small sponge on a stick. It allows you to pick up excess fluid as well as apply it.

I use a 2" sponge brush for cyanotypes
I was thinking a brush would be better for vandykes as I will have better control with one

I ordered a 2" ron ranson hake brush for cyanotypes as this will be cheaper than buying foam brushes all the time.
Got 12 days off work from next week so a couple of them will be doing vandykes
