Default Help! Anyone know what film format this neg carrrier is for?

I'm getting rid of some old darkroom gear, and found this Omega neg carrier I didn't even know I had. The opening is 40mm square, and it looks like the pins on the inside of the carrier would hold a film that's 45mm high.

I've Googled it, and also asked a friend who's been in the pro darkroom business for many years, and have drawn a blank. Does anyone have any idea what film would fit in this carrier? Thanks.

Hi. If it is for negatives, then perhaps 127 film. It was used in 4x4 cameras made by Rollei and Yashica to produce square negatives. There was also a large slide format called 'Super slide' I think, but the carrier would normally be recessed for use with mounted transparencies. The only other possibility could be 126 cartridges used in Kodak Instamatic cameras. I think they were close to that size.
Alex.

I would help if we knew the actual size of the aperture in the carrier, there is no indication apart from the fact it is square.

I’m with Alex on this one, 127 film.

John, the dimensions have been given.

You guys are awesome: yes, it's for 127 film. I wondered why I couldn't figure that out and took another look at the Wikipedia page I'd accessed-- it had the dimensions in inches (1 5/8") rather than mm and I'd measured it as 1 3/4".

Thank you all for your help.
