Default Schneider 90mm Super Angulon f8 MC

I have just bought myself this lens second hand, and await delivery, it is said to be immaculate condition (fingers crossed). I wanted to know if anybody has experience of the lens and could give their opinion on its quality and how it handles in use.

I have a Chamonix 045n-1 on order but it will not be ready till August, so I will have to just sit and look at the lens longingly till then.

Any info will be most appreciated. Its the multi coated version but if single coated info is relevant that would be great.

Neil, I too have a Chamonix 45N-1 and bought a 90 SA f8 to start with, I did find however that it was extremely dim in low light conditions and soon bought the f5.6. Apart from that it is an extremely fine lens. You find more info here http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/foto/an_su/an_su.htm

I have the 90mm SA f/5.6 Neil, it has a little more coverage than your f/8 but from what I understand their is very little difference in image quality.
Sorry I cant help much apart from that.

I have one for my MPP Mk VIII and it`s very good. It will also cover the 5x7 format.

Seems to be a popular lens; I have one too, and I certainly can't complain about the quality.

I've been making do with a 5.6 Angulon and hope to follow you into superdom in due course. Even the Angulon isn't too bad (though I use my two narrower lenses more often, an Optar and a Sironar).

A very popular lens. I suspect at least half of 5x4 users have owned one at some time... Mine is my most used lens in 5x4 landscape work.

You can get some technical info on the Schneider web site at http://www.schneideroptics.com/info/...format_lenses/ and can tell how old it is from the serial number here: http://www.schneideroptics.com/info/age_of_lenses/
