Lovley shot Michael, I to love donkey's, ( the animals I mean) we don't have many over here, we do have a donkey sanctuary, clpsed at the moment, but the largest amount of Donkey's are in our sister Isle. Guernsey, We call them Donkey's and they call us Crapaud's,

Thank you Richard - just a bit of a fun shot. That’s a good bit of banter with your neighbours. I like it!

The Donkey's and crapauds go back a very long way, to the English cival war, when we we on the right side, we were for the King, but the Guernseyites were for Parliament, and we have never forgiven them, the rivalry was very bitter certainly up to the sixties, we have a inter island footbal match every yera, on in Guernsey and one in Jersey, and I can remember that when in Jersey the Guernsey fans got here on the boat, they were met by a large police guard and escorted to the stadium, locked in, and escorted back to the boat afterwards, for their own safety, and I can remember that if a Guernsey man was caught in Jersey hewould go home with bruises, and same goes for a Jersey man in Guernsey, I won't tell the story of how they came to be called Donkey's, but it goes back to the aftermath of the Cival war, and the Restoration, but why Crapauds?, well Crapauds is Jersey french for toads, and it is well known over here that a group of Crapauds coming across the field scares donkeys into running away in fear, I used to tell these story's when I was a living history person' alas Covid has put paid tohat, at least this year

Thanks for the explanation, Richard. While I don’t mind a bit of banter I’m not enamoured if it escalates to physical violence (or threat of it). Anyway, we’re way off topic here so before we get a slap on the wrists let’s return to the Thread.

Yesterday I took some shots of shrubs and flowers in the garden - that’s how bad things are at the minute! I received a 16mm extension tube (from the Big Auction site) for my Hasselblad 501cm (a camera I never thought I would be able to afford but bought a few years ago when it just came into my price range). The extension tube seemed to do the trick nicely - I was able to get close to the ‘action’. I developed the film last night (FP4+ in RO9 1+25, 9 minutes) and left it to dry today. The plan for tomorrow is to do some printing - if I get anything decent I shall post the results!

You would need to understand Jersey and Guernsey to make sense of it, but it is very much in the past, but makes a great tale for people living in the era,(which I did every Tuesday from 10 to 4, from May to September as living history), but back on topic, I was out today taking some photos of old rope and knots, and a few flowers, on my Bronica, Yes, times are hard for photographer's at the moment, but better to take old rope than nothing, Things are slowly getting better here, our R rate is way down to 0.4, and we only have about 50 cases and 9 in hospital, but I have got so used to avoiding people that it has become second nature, hence old rope

I finally got into my D/R over the last couple of days as there has been a very cold wind here that discourages going out.

The first two were taken with my Leica M6 and 9cm lens on or from the cycle track into Caernarfon while going shopping on my Ebike. The film was HP5+ (OOD 1999), which had a high background density and hence loss of contrast but at ISO400 and so were printed on MGIV at Gr. 3 or 3.5. I waited ages for someone to come toward me down the track to fill the light patch in the distance but noone came!

The second was taken while out for a walk near my house. This was taken using my Pentax MX, 50mm + ×2 Vivitar Macro Converter on Delta 100 and printed on MGIV at Gr. 2.5

It didn't manage to attach the scans of the prints. I think I forgot to click on 'Attach'....Doh! Here they are, I hope.

That’s a very trendy tipple these days, Mitch! I’m normally on Grappa, but ventured slightly off-piste and ordered a bottle of Galician Orujo last week. The jury is still out on that, but the Spanish cider which accompanied it was first class. I can’t say I’ve noticed much improvement in my photography.

I'm on board with that! My anti-Covid tonic has vitamin C to boost immune system, along with alcohol and salt as disinfectants.
Per glass: 1 oz. Tequila; 1.5 oz. freshly squeezed lime and lemon juice (50/50); 1 oz. simple syrup; 1 tsp. Triple Sec. Shake and pour into salt-rimmed glass with two ice cubes. Otherwise known as a classic Margarita. Delicious.
