Default Mamiya-Sekor 105mm f3.5 lens

The lens in these pictures was given to me by a neighbour this afternoon. He has no idea of its origins, it was in a box of odds and ends (bric a brac he calls it) he acquired and wondered if I had a use for it. The lens board is plain wood.

I’ve tried Mr Google and drawn a blank ... anyone any ideas?

A Japanese YouTube site shows a very similar lens but in a mounting for some kind of TLR and a somewhat different kind of shutter.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xqciGjcvK4

But, as it has a Copal Press shutter, it could be more at home in something like this Mamiya Press-S camera.

In order to see if there is an adapter, you'd need to unscrew the front element and see if there is an additional ring.

Seems to be a single unit, I certainly can’t unscrew anything further

Ok. Then I think I will check and see if any of my mamiya press lenses fit into shutters.

By the way, Nick looks to be right with the Mamiya Press-S.

Default Mamiya lens

This looks like the taking lens from a Mamiya 33 to 330f series TLR The taking lens seems to have been removed from the mounting plate - Why I have no idea.) The 105 was thought of as probably the best of all the lenses for the TLR.The viewing lens was quite unique with TLR's too, as it also had a diaphragm.

If you could make a focussing mount for a 35mm camera you will have a superb portrait lens.

I have a C3 and could see the similarity but couldn’t see why anyone would mount this on what I’m presuming is a LF board?

Thanks John, that sounds like an interesting future project!
