Hi Sebastiaan,
Arrived well here and I am very delighted. What a lovely subject framed so well. You did the right things with dodging some parts, it is a great print. Thanks!

And have finally been received Uwe.

For this month, Uwe has upped the ante and sent me FOUR prints!

The prints are a real mixture of different subjects, with one being taken on 35mm and the other three on his Rolleiflex. Two of the prints that I like the most are one of a chandelier taken on a ferry, looking out of the back window, where the white tide made by the propellers are seen. But my favourite of course, is as usual, the one that Uwe wrote his notes on. The subject is of a small glazed window with various gardening bits placed on a wall. I know that this doesn't describe it very well, but I find it quite interesting with it being a bit William Eggleston-ish style of photographing everyday objects, but where the majority of his work are in colour in a book I have, Uwe's are in black and white.

The paper that has been used for some of Uwe's prints, is the Orwo brand, which is interesting to me as I have just started to trial a couple of packets of the paper, with my first sheets being on a FB satin type surface, which I haven't seen for many years.

So thank you Uwe for another insight into your local area.

Terry S

I have just received a very beautiful print from Frank. It is an image of swans on an ornamental lake in Potsdam. Frank has chosen to print down the image rendering the water almost black and allowing the swans to stand out. This gives the plumage of the birds a very smooth, silky appearance.
The position of the two swans relative to one another creates a sense of depth, and together they form a very neat compositional triangle. The darkness of the water is relieved by some subtle reflections, neatly balancing the overall arrangement.
I am fortunate to have been to this location last summer and can recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Thanks Frank for this print and the accompanying letter.
Alex

Dear Alex,
Thank you. Next time I would like to make a portraint of you there. ;-)
My mother lives in Berlin and I am around there every now and then. We often visit Sanssoucis in Potsdam then.
