Hi
I am a new film shooter from NW England. I was introduced to this forum by fellow Pentaxian Svend and I am very pleased to be here. I am a big Pentax fan. It allows me to use vintage glass on digital cameras but last year I was hooked by film. My local photographic society was loaned a Leica iii from 1935 and I was hooked. The cameras I own, that work, are Pentax Spotmatic SP Pentax MX Voigtlander Vitomatic ii (skopar lens) Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1 (1946 version) Re. Developing, I have all the gear, mostly Paterson, and plan to do my first roll (Rollei rpx100) in caffenol as soon as the builders stop beating my house up |

Welcome aboard Pete.
Let us know how you get on - I'm sure some here will have experience of caffenol and it would be interesting to see how it performs with Rollei RPX100. Have fun, Bob. |

Hi Pete! Welcome to FADU. Nice to see you here. You're in the right place to learn all things film-related. The folks here have a wealth of knowledge, so ask away and you will have no shortage of helpful replies.
You have some nice cameras there, each will surely add their own unique character to your images. But I'm curious - how many film cameras do you have that don't work? ![]() All: Pete and I know each other from the Pentax Forums, and he's the fellow on whose behalf I inquired about the Ikoflex mirror a few days ago.

Welcome Pete.
![]() I am curious as to why you are developing your first film in caffenol? I have only used it the once, for developing paper, but wasn't taken by it, so have not done it since. I've read about a few people who use only that, but personally I would go with a more standard developer for the first film to (almost) guarantee some good negs to print and to compare to, maybe when you use caffenol on a later film. Either way, lets hope the builders finish quickly for you. ![]() Terry S |

Welcome Pete!
+1 to what Terry says.......starting off with Caffenol for a developer is a risky approach since you may not have anything to compare it to yet. I'd suggest one of the "traditional" developers like ID11, HC110 freshly made so you can see if your exposure/metering is correct. After that you can move on to more "exotic" developers. Mike |
