Default Hi from Galicia, Spain.

Ive been a photographer since 1981. I trained as an industrial photographer and at one point had 12 staff and two studios in Chester and Wrexham. I sold the company and went surfing and ended up in Galicia, Spain. I now take landscapes and make surfboards for a living. I shoot 90% film. My main cameras are leica iiif, Pentax Spotmatic/K1000 and Rolleicord V. I do have Minolta in fact far too many old cameras and lenses. I never lost the enjoyment of printing negatives from my apprentice days.

Welcome to FADU, Rory. I had no idea that the famous waves by Newquay, I presume, were anything like that powerful. Ending up in Galicia after going surfing - Wow!. By comparison Del Boy could only manage 25 miles out to sea when in Florida and that was on a dodgy jet ski If you ever saw that episode of "Only Fools and Horses"

That beats anything that Steve McGarrett's got in Hawaii

Mike

Do you guys scan hand prints to post or do you scan negs and post process. I do copy my negs onto digital but my aim is to keep them as close to hand prints as possible. Im not into super sharp high contrast images. I'm happy with film.

Excellent. I don't tend to print that big so scanning will be easy.

You should seriously think about taking part in the monthly print exchange rounds. The more the merrier!

Good morning Rory from a very wet West Yorkshire - not that I envy you the warmer climate at all I hope you get as much out of the FADU forum as I have.
Regards
