Default Corby, Northamtonshire - Slides - Possible B&W

Just stumbled upon this site whilst searching for slide film stockists and clubs that might still have slide competitions.

Tend to always take colour slides, but am thinking of turning some attention to DIY B&W processing and printing if I can work out where and how to fashion a crude darkroom. Alternatively, have seen some talk on the internet recently about B&W slides.

Horrified at the callous dumping by Nikon of so much of their product range in recent years (filters, bellows etc).

I was up your way last week, at the Beamish Museum between there and Durham. Must admit half to three-quarters of it I couldn't make head nor tail of as regards a "museum" (family day out for those with youngster, yes) but of the remainder of it I managed to get through four rolls of film in a single day, which is something I've not done for about 15 years!

Welcome to FADU. The great thing about slides is that you only need a crude darkroom as there is no printing only developing. Well there was once printing with Ilfochrome paper but that's another story.

It would be nice to know what A stands for. Sounds very formal referring to you as A Tonkin

Hello and welcome to the forum. Hope you'll get as much out of the darkroom as you get from shooting slides.

hi atonkin,
welcome to FADU and good luck with your slide project. Personelly, I find it rewarding to hang my print on the wall and with a slide you can produce a print or you can stay with the wall projection - best of both worlds.
