Default A star is born . . .

. . . .well not really!!

Just a catchy title to catch people’s attention. I sure aint gonna swap being behind a still camera anytime soon for being in front of a movie camera.

However, a student of mine wanted to make a short video of me talking about photography principally to show to his friends to encourage them to think about photography in a wider sense and the possibility of using film.

For all of those here who have wondered what the grumpy old git (sorry to our american cousins - I think this is a somewhat British-specific phrase) behind the various www.dsallen.de posts looks like, sounds like and thinks, here is your chance:

A concise and well made video that also made sense. You can't apply all three words, phrases to many videos made these days. Always nice to put a face to a name as well

Well done David your point was very clear and easy to take in and you don't look to much like a grumpy old git.

Thank you for showing us, David. It conveys the essentials : your conviction, your belief in film, your enthusiasm - really inspirational, I find

Hi I really enjoyed watching the film very clear and well put.

Well done to the student who produced it, I would say the point that he was trying to put across through film worked as did yours regard film.

I also enjoyed the film. It pointed me to your website, and I enjoyed looking at your images. I have heard a lot about Berlin, from my son who has visited twice, and from friends who spent a weekend in the City in September. I must try to visit myself at some point.
