I've just read it Mitch - a good read!

I have a number of 5" x 4" pinholes, but I also have a 35mm lens cap. So, when I next order any film I'll get a roll or three of XP2 to try out, especially since I've only ever tried it the once, getting it d+p-ed at Snappy Snaps, before taking the negatives into the darkroom. And a good set of prints they made too!

And yes, the grain of XP2 is almost impossible to find and focus on.

Latest test, XP2 semi stand in Caffenol C-L. 65mins at 20c with 3 agitations at 2,4,8,16 & 32mins. It shared a tank with a very expired(1991) roll of Orwo NP27 (last picture)

Well, I have to say, whoever suggested shooting XP2 at 100 is a genius.
#Ilford #xp2 shot at 100 & developed at 20° in stock #ID_11 as per massive dev. I reduced the time by 20% + 20% to allow for pulling then added 40% because this is film 5 in this solution. I am going to try it at 400 again, just as a comparison but this could well be my new default for shooting xp2

You're making my brain hurt here Pete

Seriously, some really nice tonality in those images. Nice rich midtones. Well done indeed. This is a combo I will have to try it seems. I have never used XP2 due to the cost of sending it out for C41. I really had no idea you could get such nice results with normal developers.

Lol I never thought I would need to be a mathematician. When I bought the bulk roll I was hoping I would have an everyday 400 film to go with my foma200 but its possible this is best shot at 100 when developed in B&W. It certainly wasn't a waste of money as these shots really pleased me. Also I have had my moniesworth of fun experimenting. The film is two years expired so nearly fresh lol and it was half the price quoted on ilford website (£55 as opposed to £105). If this latest roll, shot at 400 doesn't hit the spot I may call it and shoot it at 100 simply because 100 is so very nice. I have found a cheap supplier of Rollei Retro 400s so may just grab 100ft of that for my 400 fix.
