Looks good Dave, have you got his home number? Thank you.

Well he phoned me from 01371 831171 so I assume that's it.

Guys, just a thought - do you think it's appropriate to publish someone's home phone number on a public forum? Perhaps first ask permission, out of courtesy. If it were me, I wouldn't want my number out there.

Rolleiflex service-Brian Mickleboro contact details?
I did consider that, but since that is the only means by which anyone is likely to put any business his way then it seams reasonable to. There's no point offering a service and yet be uncontactable! Personally I'd find it more intrusive to have my mobile number in the public domain than my landline, but there you go.
I should also point out that landlines for his previous two home addresses are also readily available on various websites and forums, so this is hardly a new phenomenon. Last edited by DaveP; 9th September 2017 at 07:48 AM. |

Fair enough Dave. But perhaps Mr. Mickleboro doesn't want to attract business. Considering how hard it was for you to find him, it might be the case. If he was keen on getting customers, it would be easy enough to hang a shingle and tell the world. And did the people on the other forums ask his permission? Maybe he's not comfortable with strangers calling his house and talking to his family. It would be a fair thing to ask him, is all.
Thanks, Svend |

I agree with Svend on this. I had no need to see that 'phone number; so it could have been pm-d, really.

If it's such an issue then the moderators can delete all phone numbers from this thread. Makes no odds to me. All it means is none of you will be able to get in touch with him next time you need a camera servicing.

Are we not being a little too sensitive here? I've used Brian a few times with complete satisfaction and he's never asked how I got in touch with him or shown any interest at all in anything like that. His phone number can be readily found on other public forums. Some forums even compile lists of camera repairers - all with phone numbers where known - in different countries which is very useful. Brian's running a business, for Pete's sake! Some Rollei owners searching for a repairer will stumble across this thread in future and be grateful to Dave for posting Brian's number.

His name maybe should be added there with his contact details. Bill PS - Just tried and it will not accept an entry without a URL. Last edited by Bill; 10th September 2017 at 01:22 PM. |
