Negatives: Plustek Opticfilm 120 for 135/120 and Epson V700 for 4x5
Prints: Epson V700

You can upload pictures into the gallery / albums, but be aware that negative scans aren't allowed (unless it's for technical discussions)

The V700 is no longer available, this has been replaced by the V800

You need 5 posts to be able to post pictures, no negative scans are allowed here, unless it is for tecniccal disscusions, they must be scans of darkroom prints, and you can post in either the gallery or put up an album, so one more post and you should be away, If I have made a mistake here then I am sure one of the mod's will correct me

I always scan my prints ,so it gives me more reason to stay in my darkroom and print more ..as I say, printing your own negative is the most fun you can have with your clothes on :-)

Are scanned slides ok?
Also, is there a maximum image size that can be posted.

As a side issue, what's the rationale' for no scanned negatives?

I think the rules and reasons are all listed on the Home Page. There are other groups who are happy with negative scans and hybrid chemical/digital imaging. This one has a specific aim to promote traditional chemical based processes. Lots of people here participate in several forums where other interests prevail, and their rules reflect that. Scanning is a necessity here to allow members to display their prints, or to seek help with a faulty negative. By that I mean an exposure or processing fault, rather than an aesthetic issue. This forum benefits greatly, in my opinion, from the Moderators deciding at the outset what the aims of the group should be, and maintaining that through adherence to their rules and guidelines.

I think the moderators are sleeping a bit: a thread like this would normally be closed as soon as a moderator saw it.

As Alex says, this site is around to promote traditional, silver based, film and darkroom work, and has such negative scans has always been a big no no, scans of prints have to be allowed so that prints can be shown, something we all like to do, I don't know about slides, but I would think not, if you want to go down a hybrid/digital route with scans of negatives then there are other forums, such as Dpug and possibly Apug, If I am incorrect about slides being scanned the a forum moderator will correct, and where are they, as Michael, these threads are normally closed quickly

I think that the previous posts have covered why this site does not want to drift into hybrid topics. I note from the OP's profile that he hopes to have a darkroom soon. As soon as he does we will be able to provide him with a lot more support and advice.

Bests,

David.
