Default Dartmoor in january is back!

Dartmoor in January is BACK!

Some of you will remember the popular Dartmoor in January gatherings we ran in Bovey Tracey at the Riverside Inn? I have often thought of re running this event but the problem has been finding a suitable hotel when the Riverside Inn ceased trading. However, if we use the Newton Abbot Premier Inn, which is just a short drive from Bovey Tracey, a re-run of Dartmoor in January becomes possible.

Currently the Newton Abbot Premier Inn is offering rooms in January 2019 for just £33 per night. The Inn has a restaurant / bar, car park etc. But if you would prefer to arrange your own accommodation please go ahead and do this.

Newton Abbot also has a main line railway station for those who wish to travel by train.

https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hot...id=GLBC_NEWABB

DATES: Weekend of the 25th, 26th and 27th of January, 2019.

Booked so far at the Newton Abbot Premier Inn.

Neil
Barry

The plan is to visit some good locations for photography. Depending on the weather possible locations include: Wistman's Wood, Powder Mills,, Horsham Steps Hisley Bridge, Bentor Church, Yarner Wood , Haytor / Haytor Quarry and Fogging Tor Quarry - plus many more!

The walking will be light to moderate and the emphasis will be on maximising image making opportunities rather than trekking miles across tors. Appropriate winter outdoor clothing and walking boots/shoes are recommended.

If you can't make the whole weekend but could join in for a few hours, or stay for a day, that would be great – please do come along.

This is a great opportunity to get back into trim after the Christmas excesses and an excellent way to kick-start your photography for 2019!

We hope to see you there

Neil.

Barry, let's hope for some giant icicles that don't break-off

Cheers,

Neil.

Booked - I'll check if I'm supposed to be working that weekend in a minute.

Will definitely need a break around then (could do with one now...) and t'will be good to see a newly re-mobile Neil...

I'm expecting crisp winter sun with an inch or two of snow (but with the roads clear of course) - I'm sure the gods will be kind. And if they are not, lots of local hostelries to investigate...

Cheers, Bob.

Great to have Bob and Paul join us again. Snow? I may be able to bring some down from here?

Room booked for 25th/26th/27th January. With global warming more likely to be floods! I'll bring my snorkel!
