Default Greetings from western Canada

I am pleased to discover FADU and I'm looking forward to being a part of this inspiring group of people.

My formal training is classical music, but I learned that darkrooms and cameras were in my genes from both parents. Last October, I discovered the beauty of black and white film; my digital camera is used primarily as a light meter!

I now consider myself to be an amateur photographer. I create images as I learn for the sake of expression alone - no expectations - art for the sake of art. The pure aesthetic they say?! I've missed that in music.

My current focus is attempting to capture beauty that is the human form. I shoot 35mm, 120, 4x5 film and process every stage from development to 8x10 prints personally by hand. (Gloves on when I develop 4x5 negatives in trays while sitting in darkness!)

My website:

http://www.darkclassical.com

cheers everyone!

Welcome to the Forum Bruce.

Some interesting stuff on your site and your album on here.

Classical music and photography. Didn't a certain Mr Adams have that mix as well?

Bill

Hi Bruce and welcome to the forum. I like your website, images and music. I'm a big fan of ambient music; favourite musicians are Harold Budd, Brian Eno, Michael Brook et al.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind words and welcome. Yes, I understand this Mr. Adams was a pianist. No brilliant photographers that started out as a bassoonist though. Oh well!

I'm looking forward to exploring this site.

thanks again everyone!

Bruce
