Gone off chems?
Found some time to do a bit of printing today. Have a Tetenal RA4 kit. Mixed up the Dev and it's green! Safe to say has gone off?

What colour were the two parts of the RA4 before you mixed them? When you say 'green', was it a dark green or just with greenish tint?
If they were either clear or at most a pale straw colour before mixing then that indicates it was OK. The vessel in which they were mixed, what was it used for prior prior to this? If it had some other chemical then it could be cross contamination. Plastics after some time of use will not be completely clean of the previous contents, which I why I use glass every time. I have seen the Kodak RA4 turn green even when it was freshly mixed and this is down to the temperature of the water added was not within the recommended margins Usually 20c to 40c Once it is allowed to sit for a while the colour changes to pale straw. Perhaps that is what yours needs to do. |
