As long as it doesn't jump to £1000 as soon as you hit the submit square as Marty's did

Just out of interest what's a "rare film mixing box?". Strangely no mention of a 5x4 mask but maybe this is a given as it's a 504 enlargerand thus only other mask sizes are mentioned

Open to offers as well which suggests that an offer in the region of £220 might secure.

My suggestion would be that it's a mixing box for rare film - in other words I'm as mystified as you!

The rare roll film mixing box is just that, I have one that I acquired on Ebay for about £12 a few months ago, it gives about one stop extra light over the standard 5x4 box and will cover negs up to 6x7, I had to wait a couple of years for one to turn up.

Thanks for that explanation. In a 5x4 enlarger can I assume that it is the long exposure times for the smaller negs covered that require a one stop extra box as it doesn't appear to cover 5x4 negs?

Hi Mike
The reason that a different light mixing box is advantageous is that the rollfilm box does not have to cover the larger negative therefore is designed so that the light is more concentrated, I would assume that this enlarger has both boxes, one in situ in the head and there is one clearly visible to the right of the enlarger column on the baseboard, the appearance and dimensions of both boxes are the same, obviously the difference can be seen when looking at the diffuser.
