Default well chuffed

I bought some (4) BJP annuals from a well known ebay book seller and two of the annuals are signed by Geoffrey Crawley ,one says, To Graham Saxby from the BJ and signed by Geoffrey .the other says to Graham Saxby best wishes from and Geoffrey's signature .
I know he's not the fifth beetle ,but I hold him in high esteem ,a great man and what he didn't know about photography wasn't worth knowing ,he was always there in books and magazines all my photography life. He started of in the east end ,like me a cockney boy and ended up in Essex like me ,so to have two books with his signatures in them has left me well chuffed .
one is the BJP 1988 and the other BJP 1983 Annuals

I can well understand your pleasure at this Paul. There is something special about having such items signed by authors\artists one admires

Yes. It's a perfectly cromulent word!

Completely agree with you, Paul: Crawley was a real photographic hero. Apart from exposing the Cottingley Fairies hoax in the BJP, he was the creator of Acutol.

His Wikipedia entry is disappointing on that score but OK on general biographical information.

A fork is called a spoon when it's runcible?

We call it 'gruntled' round here. However I'm disgruntled to hear the Geoffrey Crawley (allegedly) disproved the Cottingley Fairies. Is nothing sacred?

The next thing we'll hear is that Paterson sent him to Lapland with a roll or 10 of FP4+ and a bottle of Acutol to do some 'investigative journalism'!
