Default Schneider Super-Angulon f8/90 For sale

Sorting through equipment I don't use any more.

Excellent condition Linhof Schneider Super-Angulon f8 90mm lens. The lens is in excellent condition as can be seen from the pictures.
The shutter, which is a Synchro-Compur, is a bit unreliable. When it's first cocked it sometimes fires straight away and other times it stays cocked ready for firing via the cable release. Probably needs a service as I haven't used it for a couple of years. This is reflected in the price.
The lens weighs 450g and comes with non-original front and rear caps.

I'm looking for £130 ovno + signed for postage (around £8 in the UK for this parcel)

I'd like to list this on eBay at the weekend if no takers here. Can accept Paypal or direct bank transfer.

Any questions please PM me, thanks.

Hi Tony-
not looking to buy your lens as I've got one already! Just to say the 90/f8 is a really sharp lens, with good coverage for 5x4. results are crisp, with good contrast and well controlled flare- even straight into the light.
If it has any downside the GG image can be hard to see in dim light- however, the 5.6 version is bigger and pricier. So, a thumbs up for this lens (and a steal at this price, Ed!!)

Hi Colin, I actually have an old battered 90mm f8 SA that is in a Copal 00 shutter, fortunately I was given a 0-00 adapter so it fits in a Copal 0 mount, it just covers 5x7 with a couple of mms of movement so I have tended only to use it for straight shots. It will be nice to have a better copy to play with.

Payment sent.

Hi Ed. Largest I shoot is 5x4, in a Shen Hao, and with the 90mm the limiting factor on movement is the bellows. They just don't compress. flex enough. It always seems the image circle is bigger than I can take advantage of. I'm not going to start carrying bag bellows about as well though- I'd rather pack more film in the bag.
Cheers!

Not a problem with the Canham MQC 5x7, you can use down to a 47mm SA (with a 4x5 reducing back) with the standard bellows (2 inch to 24 inch), if you want to use movements though at shorter focal lengths you need the bag bellows.
