The Post has just arrived, bringing a very high quality FB print from Richard Gould. The image is a plant which has suffered some recent storm damage. I'm not sure what species the plant is, but it makes a very nice, almost abstract image in black and white. I like the fine detail and range of tones. It's very impressive for 35mm, and a camera which was made some time ago. Thanks Richard. I'm very pleased with the print.

Received today, a simple but very effective shot of snowdrops against a dark background. The main snowdrop sharp & full detail with the narrow DOF leaving the complementary background ones filling space without been too demanding. Large contrast range. Intrigued by your remarks about Prescysol as I have never tried altering the dilutions. Please tell me more. I like this a lot, thank you Steve.

Prescysol is a tanning developer so hardens the film emulsion as it develops it, thereby limiting how much contrast you can get on the film. With normal developers you would increase development time to increase the contrast but this will not work with Prescysol, so instead you increase the working strength of the developer. The recommended ratio is 1 part of A and B to 100 parts water. I normally use 1.5 Parts to 100, or 2 Parts to 100 if a low contrast scene. I may use the 1 Part to 100 if the film was shot around a high contrast scene. Hope this helps Steve |

And it arrived today. 2 lovely fb prints on Sterling MG. Both photos are sharp, silky smooth and with imperceptible grain.
The rustic gate has its charm but I especially like the medium format shot of the bare back-lit tree. Thanks Andrew.
