PS Thanks Neil for a fun weekend.
Thanks Barry. It was probably the After -Eight mint in the restaurant, or not seeing the Light Box

Could be - but I don't think anyone else succumbed to the allure of The Light Box either...

Odd place. Googling it suggests some of the possible reasons why, but the refurbished rooms are OK - just don't get stuck in one of the older rooms would be my recommendation - they are somewhat showing their age, as are some of the carpets in the public areas.

It does appear to me that most people who run hotels and guest-houses are a bit odd - the business seems to attract them (or quite possibly, dealing with the general public sends them that way!).

But most of all, decline any suggestions to see The Light Box <dum dum daaaaaaaaaaaah>

Certainly so - especially as it is downstairs in the basement. I would need an armed guard to go there!

Very good Tony and thanks for posting.

You have managed a few viewpoints I missed but maybe you should have included the Bentley and the Aston Martin Send them in to John Mappin and you could take the £100 he kindly offered - I don't think anyone else has any of the hotel.

I tried to get 'arty' and photograph it through some long grass or nettles but I couldn't find any nearby, so came away with nowt

Agreed - very nice indeed. I like the way the wall leads to the hotel and THE LIGHT BOX

Re image number 1.

I do believe you have also captured Barry and myself having an early morning strategy chat to the left of the hotel
