Silverprint Manual and Ag Photographic Magazines
What a pity there's not a resource like this today, I'm talking about the Manual (1910) and then magazine started by Martin Reed and Eddie Ephrams.
It would be good if some of the material was online, maybe Martin will see this post. Ian |

Ian I wonder if the title can be added to. When I saw the thread's title I thought it was about one of our sponsors
I came too late to photography to have heard about either of the resources you mention. Yes it would be worthwhile if the resource was available online Mike |

That's the one edited by Chris Dickie, who died in 2011. I was a subscriber when they had to suspend it on his death.
While I subscribed, it was rather theoretical. Was it more of a practical periodical earlier on? |

I am now totally confused, what is this about. What resource is being referred to, or am I missing something?

Ian, Chris published it under his own imprint, Picture-Box Media; so I think it unlikely that it was digitised unless a library has done it. The Guardian published a nice obituary, which you can see here.
I'll see whether I can find any more for you, if Martin Reed doesn't post here. "Ephraums", by the way, not "Ephrams" |

It began with Martin Reed, Eddie Ephrams it changed publishers and finally Chris Dickie of the BJP was editor of both. Two members of this forum wrote for it. It's importance is the Manual and the subsequent many articles in the magazine. I can't remember when I stopped buying but only have copies with Chris Dickie as editor from 1997 & 1998 and I think it's direction changed around then. My guess now is I was buying it on infrequent trips to London. From it's founding 1990 it was only on issues 9 & b10 1997 & 8 and by then was £10 a copy There was also a Silverprint Magazine, I only have Issue 1 Spring 1991 and don't know if there were more. Martin Reed could enlighten us but my recollection was Ag Photographic (magazine) was initially meant to be a supplement to the Manual. Ian |

I've just checked ebay, and there are a LOT of both magazine titles for sale, although they don't come cheap!!
Check out the following link and sort by 'best match', if it doesn't come up that way. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...gazine&_sop=12 Terry S |

I have edited the thread title to avoid any confusion over the Silverprint Manual and Magazines, to which this thread refers, and AG Photographic in Birmingham.
