Hello from the West Mids.
Hey there, I have only recently got into photography thanks to the other half. Although I'm hardly taking the most amazing photos I am having alot of fun on the way.
The current camera that I am using is a Minolta Dynax 404si with the standard lens. Nothing special, but I don't want to go breaking the bank at the start. I've also purchased some darkroom equipment off ebay that included a Durst M302 and a JOBO 2400 developing tank along with all the other needed equipment such as the trays etc all for the tidy sum of £21 quite the bargain. However, I am at a bit of a loss on what black and white chemicals to get for developing, so hopefully I'll be able to find out the information that I need on the forum. |

Welcome Mark, I'm sure advice on chemicals will not be lacking here.

Yeah, I have just been looking around the site. Seems like plenty of friendly people who are willing to help. Will there be a specific forum area for what I am after?

Photography in General should do nicely.

Welcome to FADU, Mark. For printing I use Harman 5 litre MG developer and 5 litre Rapid Fix fixer. For film developing I now use Kodak Xtol. A powder dev which is easy to mix and surprisingly cheap but as it makes 5L you really need to decant it into empty wine boxes.
The equally good alternative but more expensive is 1L of Harman DDX. It is liquid, has good keeping properties and easy to store at 1L. You dilute it 1+4. As you are in the West Mids, I'd try Matt at AgPhotographic. Great range of stuff, friendly advice and within reasonable travelling from anywhere in the W Mids I'd have thought. We are here to help Mike |

Thank you Mike, I have been looking on the AgPhotographic website, but didn't realise they were so close to me. I suppose the best thing to do would head up there and ask there advice on it all. Thanks.
