Post Hello:

My username is my name. I have joined today, 7th April 2011, with the intention of learning about dark rooms & developing B&W 35mm film.
I was introduced to your site by a member of another photographic site, to which I also belong, where I had asked advice about developing film, and setting up a darkroom at home, to enable me to do so.
I do use digital cameras, but I also shoot a lot with a Nikon F5 SLR.
You may assume that my ignorance of developing film and darkroom practices it TOTAL
Please, initially at least, make allowances for this ignorance when I pose questions which to you may appear absurd.

I look forward to fitting in

Welcome Jack to FADU. This is a great site for advice but I would advise you to consider getting a book or even books on Darkroom processes.

Reading a book can often spark a number of questions and that's where a forum like FADU becomes invaluable.

Does the college at Booth Lane run evening analogue B&W courses? If not then assuming you have transport consider checking with Banbury which certainly did have facilities or a bit further away Leamington.

I did a course there with full darkroom facilities and never looked back. In fact but for Leamington I may not have even got here.

Mike

Welcome Jack, glad that you have found us.
There is no such thing here as an absurd question, if we don't ask then we won't learn, remember that we all started from where you are, some of us were lucky enough to have a tutor whilst others had to work it out the hard way.

Welcome to the forum Jack.

Never be afraid to ask questions. We've all had to learn somehow.
