Default YouTube Photography links

Here are just one or three of the YouTube channels I have watched on and off and generally keep going back to...

There is a lot out there with many folks offering their wisdom, or lack of it, Philosophy all the same though. There is to my mind a LOT of interest in traditional photography (film as opposed to digital).

Thought I'd revive this thread as I have recently tripped over this chap: The Photographic Eye (aka Alex Kilbee) - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdQ...6eoXfrSWchHOrQ and I thought his is the most interesting photographic channel I have come across for quite a while (YMMV of course!). A mixture of notes on assorted photographers and monologues on various aspects of photography. Very well thought out and clearly explained I think.

While I am here...

Lots of mostly darkroom related stuff - The Naked Photographer (Gregory Davis) : https://www.youtube.com/c/TheNakedPhotographer/featured

And some short darkroom and film related tips and longer comparisons/tests etc from John Finch - Pictorial Planet : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ1...CUZlrN9ErWVxXQ

I have been looking at a lot of YouTube videos myself in the depths of lockdown and there is a lot of interesting stuff out there.

The presentation skills vary quite a bit as does the amount of useful info in the videos but the more practice at watching and sifting that I get the better I think I become at sorting out the really useful to me stuff from the pleasant to watch but not a lot of real content and the stuff which begs the "stop" button to be pressed. The latter however does seem to be mercifully small in number

Can I also recommend Martin Henson from Yorkshire. While he is a hybrid worker he also has a number of useful videos on the zone system, basic film developing and a number of walk about videos using different cameras. There is some digital manipulation stuff but you can choose to ignore those.

I have been enjoying the channels of both John Finch and pentaxpete; they are both very informative and enjoyable.
