Default Fay Godwin 'The South Bank Show' doco

Hi all,

I found a documentary about Fay Godwin on YouTube, thought it might interest some folk here. I love her landscapes and I consider her work a benchmark to aim towards. This must have been filmed around the early1980's - sampled from poor quality home video and with Italian subtitles. Plus the usual snooty, know-it-all art critics from that-there London...

What a shame she's no longer with us. I think her work is more lively and interesting than St. Ansel's. YMMV, of course.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JE8I44Ak7o 50 mins running time. Sadly my slow connection drops after downloading 20 minutes. Oh well... :-\

Cheers,
kevs

Thanks Kevs, I will watch that when I get home from work. I too am an admirer. I wonder if work like this would get much recognition from the art establishment if it were created now?

Yes, thanks for the link. I have just finished watching it and I learnt some things about her work I was not previously aware of. Very interesting.

Thanks Kevs - I shall watch this when I get a mo. I seem to remember it actually, but then again maybe I am imagining it . . .
She was quite a gal.

I was intrigued by the cylindrical thing she was using to look at compositions. It looked like the sort of thing film directors use on set but I wonder if it was some sort of mono-viewer that you can use to assess the scene in monochrome.
