Default filmdev.org

filmdev.org is a useful website if you are playing about with different films, or a new film, and wish to establish a development time.

https://filmdev.org/

I am not recommending it but I have found it useful, on few occasions, for dev times for those unusual film/dev combinations.

I have also used it from time to time when trying out different film/dev combinations not often, but useful for a starting point

Neil, the recipes seem to end rather abruptly with ... So without an end to the first sentence even

Am I missing something I need to do?

Thanks

So in my case what am I not doing. Is it a site that requires you become a member as I note there is a logon section?

I have been used to the Digitaltruth site where there is no requirement to be a member

Thanks

Mike

Mike.

No membership required - completely free !

You need to use it - try doing a search for a dev / film combo and see what comes up.

A very useful feature on this site is most of the contributions are illustrated by pics, so you can see what has been achieved.

Click on the title of the recipe and it should take you to another page with the details.

I have never joined Mike. Maybe you need to do that if yoiu wish to upload a recipe and pics?

As said - this site has pics to show the result, can be useful.

Thanks both. Clicking on the recipe title did the trick Assuming the photos are good representations of what the developed neg is capable of with the recipe then this does help.

However it seems that the pics are scans of the reversed negative which can introduce some unknowns but on balance maybe the pics are reasonable representations based on a time I found for Xtol 1+1 and HP5+ which is what I use. It was a Chinese person's recipe and the pic did look as if it was from an over-developed neg and this tallied with the fact that the dev time was nearly three mins more than Kodak's time which is what I use.

So on balance that aspect may be a plus on the Digitaltruth charts

Thanks

Mike
