Digital Filters
I’ve just received a new green screw-on glass filter which I brought on ebay; in fact I now find that it’s a very special filter, because its box pronounces that it is a Digital filter. Now obviously I would not have brought it if I had know that it was contaminated in this way, but now I have it I feel I should make full use of it even though I remain wary. I’ve obviously examined it carefully, and cannot see any trace of digital trickery within, no wires, no batteries or printed circuit boards, just green glass. It could of course be that it simply does just what it says on the box and filters digitals out; which must be a good thing.
The question is shall buy a complete set so that I am fully protected. |

If they help to keep digitals at bay worth it,Richard

Dave,
It should behave just like a normal analogue green. I did the same when I purchased an opaque red for infrared work last year. Although advertised for doing i/r on DI machines but it also works perfectly with film. That's a very useful filter you have there for landscape work Neil.

It only allows digital light through!
This is like the digital headphones which Dixon's was selling when CDs were introduced. Steve. |

Dave,
How embarrassing, I would not use one that said that word let along admit to it. J.

Digital filter
As it's called a digital filter, I think you should lock this thread immediately.

I've had a sleepless night worrying about this, however I experienced a Eureka moment just before my (digital) alarm clock sounded when I realised that since this is a Digital Filter it purpose must be to stop digital light getting to the film and will therefore most certainly result in much clearer and presharpened pictures.

Or it may be that as a colour filter lets more of it's own colour through, this one may let more digitals through. Tread warily.
