Contact printing on Lodima
Did a couple of 5x4 contact prints on a sheet of the new G2 Lodima paper last night. Not having a dedicated contact print setup, the neg was pressed down on to the paper with the aid of a sheet of glass and the Durst set to project a 6"(approx) square of light. After exposing a few contact strips, finally settled on an exposure of eight minutes .... Had hoped to calibrate my StopClock with this paper, but I guess that isn't going to happen.
Is anyone else using this paper, if so, what do you do to get reasonable exposure times ? |

Paul, I've used Lodima, from the pre-production run and the first production run, grades 2 and 3.
I normally use large 125mm dia. Laes or Radium globes, from 60 watt to 150 watt. The 150 watt at a distance of approx. 20" gives me exposures of around 15 - 20 seconds.

I use to print on Azo paper and now on Lodima, I don't use my enlarger but a 250W frosted lamp 90 cm from negative. My average printing time is around 15 seconds. Michael Smith use a 300 w lamp.
You will find all needed information on Azo forum: http://www.michaelandpaula.com/mp/AzoForum/default.asp |

I'm printing my contacts in Fomaspeed 311; the light comes from a 150 watt bulb risen approximately 60 cm. and through my enlarger lens closed at f/22. Exposure times are around 20 seconds.

Fomaspeed is a far (and away) faster paper than those discussed here, Domingo.
Fomalux is more like lodima breed, and I was able to calibrate it for the zonemaster/analyzer with the enlarger light (100w) but the head cannot be risen too much. |

Lodima is now the only existing chloride paper.
Only for contact printing. Very slow but so beautiful |

Silverprint still list Fomalux contact paper.
I've also use this paper and it is indeed very nice. However from a personal point of view I prefer the extra warmth I can get from Lodima.
