Default new film shop in london

Hi All

I went into West End Cameras on Tottenham Court Road today for the first time in years
the last time I don't think they had any roll film at all
now they seem to of opted out of the digital camera thing and come back to photography !
Very pleased to see that they are fully stocked with 5x4-35mm from all the usual suspects along with chemicals and paper and a range of Patterson equipment
I even saw somebody buying a ilford pinhole camera

not quite Silverprint and I suspect that they are looking to the holga market but they are just across the road from where I work which i find amazing

good luck to them maybe they should become a sponsor ...

This is indeed encouraging. Thanks for posting Robin.

A brave move if they have abandoned digital in favour of analogue. Not sure if lomography will be enough to sustain profitability, however

The more shops selling this type of stuff the better.

All I need now is one in my local town centre, so that I can go and browse and buy with out the added p+p and having to be in for the delivery driver!

Here's a link to their web site, on which film does have a certain prominence.

They also sell via Ebay and their prices aren't bad for a high street outlet!

Thanks for the link Dave. Certainly some quite good prices for a shop based in London but not across the board as might be expected. Even better if you can walk there so no postage cost.

I have purchased 5x4, 120 and 35mm from them on ebay. They have provided a very good service with fast delivery.

well a little bit at a time and maybe we will slowly win back and convert some of the digital boys and girls, and maybe some more shops...... when you look on the Internet traditional film users seem to be buzzing with a lot of energy and excitement younger people seem very interested in all aspects of film photography a lot of them using cameras older than themselves if it can grow in this terrible recession what is going to happen when the economy starts to get better
