Default Other hobbies

What other hobbies do you have?

Philately: My long-standing, somewhat dormant hobby - these days, I add only those stamps that I get through various posts. I still have all my stamps since I started in 1985!

Natural perfumery: Bought some oils to see things turn up. So far I'm loving it. Somehow I find similarities with analogue photography.

I have always been a bit obsessed with motor racing and decided to take part several years back rather than just spectate. I had given it up but been feeling the urge again recently, a few friends are posting on facebook about their experience this weekend in the 24hr race at Rockingham (Citroen C1 Endurance series). Another friend wants me to start a little team with him and his daughter so I can feel a comeback soon.

Unfortunately I don't find many analogies with analog photography other than both are time consuming and require dedication to make the most off. Motorsport in particular can't really be done half heartedly.

Interesting question. I've got several interests that dovetail nicely with photography. I love cycling and bicycles in general. I don't race, although I have done in the distant past. Cycling is primarily my way of getting out into the landscape and most of my longer rides involve a camera! I'm also interested in railways and worked in the industry for 37 years until last year. Top that up with a bit of birdwatching, walking and real ale and I'm in heaven!

These are both hobbies and occasional money making opportunities:

Musician. Guitar, mandolin, banjo and ukulele.

Live sound engineer.

And as just a hobby, a bit of painting. oil and acrylic.

besides photography, my other main hobby for years has been building and operating radio controlled planes.
It works well with photography as I can decide whether I want an adrenalin fuelled afternoon, or relaxing walk in the countryside, with camera. I also enjoy theme parks and rollercoasters.

My other hobby is classic cars, between photography and the cars I don't have much time left

Default Drone view

I am fascinated by some of the images produced by drones. They are beginning to appear within mainstream dramas and documentaries. The novelty will fade but, for the time being, I'm hooked. Anyone follow?

I don't have time for hobbies, I'm afraid. I always seem to be too busy building guitars, or big wooden cameras, or longbows. I also paint and draw a lot, and do a weekly stint as a workshop volunteer at my local Folk Museum.
Hobbies? I barely have time to go fishing these days!

Every Summer I return to woodworking and painting. My latest masterpiece was repairing a rotten window frame in the back of the garage and painting it

Nothing that takes up anywhere near the same amount of time or money.
