Welcome Spencer. I'd endorse what the others have said about the fun and cheapness of home film processing v commercial labs
I admit that a home darkroom for enlarger printing requires more space but it doesn't have to be a permanent set-up nor have running water Mike |

Thanks for the welcome everyone.Seems to be a few current and ex-Londoners on here! Nice to see
I actually have an old Durst enlarger somewhere (model escapes me) and I'm hoping to set it all up when I'm in a position to either own or rent a bigger flat. Difficulty is the space! I have already requested a loft space as a must when we eventually move. When I was a teenager, I used to bother my parents by using my bedroom at night as a makeshift darkroom. They barely coped with that so I imagine my partner would have kittens! Admittedly since getting my scanner, it has sapped the fun a little bit. While lovely to see my negatives transform into digital positives, I find myself wanting to be in a little more control of the process and actually hold an image in the end as I'm not a fan or actually savvy enough to digitally manipulate them. I would prefer a spare bathroom to a loft - running water on tap (as it were)
