Default New Ilford paper

the other night I was in my darkroom drying my resin coated paper in my RC paper dryer and I was wondering if the new Ilford RC paper will go through my dryer ,as there is no adjustment on the rollers ,just wondering if the thickness is much more than the standard RC paper..

Paul, to which new Ilford paper are you referring? The MGV Deluxe is as far as I know the same thickness as the old MGIV but the new Portfolio is thicker than MGIV /V Deluxe but probably no thicker than the old Portfolio

Paul, the only dryer for RC that I have any experience of was one that the night school course on darkroom work had. As far as I know it passed RC paper through rollers which I think but cannot swear were made of material that flexed and had heating elements inside that applied what I assume to be an intense heat but for only a matter of seconds to the paper as it re-emerged from the other side of the dryer in a matter of seconds only.

I have no idea if it was adjustable for a slight increase in thickness of paper but sticking my neck out here I'd have said that the extra weight of the Portfolio
can only add a marginal amount of extra thickness which I'd imagine the flexible rollers can accommodate

However that is speculation on my part.

Mike
