jessops 3500 - help needed
Hello all,
I'm new here and also relatively new to film photography after years of digital. I've been taking photos with a Trip35 and a Yashica D, both of which offer their own challenges which has taught me alot about photography (so easy to be snap-happy whilst using a digital camera). I've been looking into purchasing an enlarger for a while, and resident in a nearby street has a Jessops 3500 enlarger with darkroom kit for sale for a really reasonable price. Before heading over to see (and hopefully buy) it, I'm wondering if it could also be used for 6x6 negatives. Can't seem to find the info on Google, so any help would be really appreciated! Thank you! |

Hi.
I don't know that enlarger myself, but a quick google says it is a re-branded LPL 3301 (Jessops never made anything much themselves - they just put their name on existing equipment, paper etc). From the info here it seems it is 35mm only. If you need/want 6x6cm you will have to look elsewhere I'm afraid. Cheers, Bob. |

Hi and welcome ton the forum, The Jessops enlarger was a re badged LPL enlarger and as such was pretty good, but was for 35mm only, so if you are happy with 35mm then fine, but I would always say if possible get an enlarger that you can use for 120 film as well as 35mm as if you get to wanting the better quality that MF offers it can be an expensive mistake havingto get another enlarger, but as such it is a pretty good enlarger

welcome to fadu,, if you are going to get all what you need in the darkroom kit, lens, timer, dev tank, trays measuring jugs, and if its really cheap maybe its worth buying and then looking for a bigger enlarger later on ....anyway good luck sorting it out........
