An early Christmas present, a Toyo 810M
So I've been seriously looking for one of these beasts to come up for sale in the condition and price that I was willing to pay.
And lo and behold, Ffordes had one come in yesterday and after a telephone inspection this morning, it sounded like a great example. No cracks or damage, locks and movements in order, bellows in fine condition etc. Can't wait to take delivery and have a play with it over the xmas hols.

Xmas comes early
I have only used a large(ish) format camera (MPP 5x4) a few times and that was a long while ago. They make you slow down and think what you are going to photograph before releasing the shutter. Nice to use, but for me too cumbersome to heave around.
Have fun though and hope the weather stays dry so you can get out and about. |

Looks a lovely camera, have fun with it, but your not the only one with a early Christmas present, having used Minolta AF cameras many years ago and loved them I sold them, for a while now I have wanted to replace them, so giving in to an attack of GAS I now have a 800si, a nice collection of lenses, and the 2 top flashes (54ooHSS and 5600hss) on the way

I am another one I have bought amongst other things a Nikkor TC-16A AF teleconverter ,and I cannot put it down ,it was made as a stop gap by Nikon when there first AF cameras came out so you could use Manuel focus lenses on your AF camera and it would focus the lens by moving a lens back and forth in the converter to give you some AF it has its limitations the longer the lens the less focus latitude the wider the lens the more .its extremely sharp ,and once you get used to it its very easy to use here is a facsimile (scanned neg) just to show how sharp it is ,I took the bird on my 300mm 2.8 with the TC-16A and the dog with a old nikkor 35mm 2.8 MF lens with TC-16A fitted.....remember these were just test shot ,and not worth printing.....
